Startin' It Up~

I'm supposed to be memorizing lines.  But I can't get my brain to do it at the moment and now I find myself blogging.  Losing yourself on the internet is nothing new in this day and age and when I realized that my brain would no longer take in any more information, I distracted it with facebook.  The good ole fb is where I found another friend's blog and in order to make a comment, I had to sign into my email account and had the option of creating a blog. And so it goes.  I have a blog.  And I will be talking about a lot on it.  Maybe.  Hopefully.

I am an actor (or actress if you are so inclined) in my 30s, in Colorado, currently in the small town of Creede, CO in the southwestern part of the state.  Why Creede, CO you ask?  Several reasons.  1. My betrothed lives here. 2. I have a job at the Creede Repertory Theatre here in town.  It's a professional theatre that started...well, here's the website which should give you a good history (www.creederep.org). 3. I have a job here because Creede happens to be a place of artistic inspiration and delight.  Who would have thunk.

I am also getting married in September.  On a Monday, the theatre day of rest.  We also call it a dark day, which makes the fact we are marrying on a "dark day" fittingly dramatic.

Why read this blog?  Perhaps you know me and are humoring me.  Perhaps you want to share stories because you are an actor yourself and want to connect over making a life/living (two different things sometimes) in this particular profession.  And for those who don't know about theatre and acting, that an actor's life isn't always about getting into blockbuster films or Broadway.  It's usually filled with a lot of fun, usually extroverted and certainly eccentric personalities who just want to work.  Period.

And at least until September, it may be about attempting to afford, with the help of some parentals, a wedding.  And a very modest one at that.  I'm also easily distracted, so this blog may twist and turn over many different topics.  Finally, I hope that at the very least, this will be some entertaining shit.
